Azan is a prayer-time app from Ecommi (package com.ecommi.azan). It shows the five daily prayers and can play Full or Half AMJ azan at those times, including when the phone is locked. Optional translation and dua after azan are separate buttons, not the alarm track.
An account is required before the app opens. We store your name, email, and a hashed password so you can sign in on this phone and so we can see who is using Azan. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not build advertising profiles.

Azan does not ask for GPS. It starts with Calgary coordinates (51.04470, -114.07190). You can search a city or type latitude and longitude. Prayer times are calculated on the phone from those coordinates.
If you search a city, the app may ask the Open-Meteo geocoding service for that place and its coordinates. We do not run a location-tracking account or a location history.
The Qibla compass uses the phone’s magnetometer on the device only, so the dial can show north and the direction of the Kaaba. Compass heading is not sent to a server.
Notifications and alarms
Azan asks for notification permission, exact alarms, and (on Android) a battery-saving exception so azan can play at Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha when the screen is off. Those permissions stay on the device. We do not send marketing notifications.
Audio and settings
Official Full azan and the dua-after-azan audio are stored in the app. If you upload your own audio, it stays on your phone. Your city, calculation method, and on/off choices for each prayer are saved on the device.
Account data
To create an account you must give a name, email, and password. We store the name, email, a hashed password, and the times you sign up or sign in. Passwords are not stored in plain text. This account data is how we know who is using Azan.
What we do not collect
- No payment information
- No contacts, photos, or files (except an audio file you choose to upload)
- No sale or rental of personal information
- No third-party advertising or analytics SDKs
Children
Azan is a general prayer-time tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
